Breakouts for June 9th: The first pick, HAYZ, managed to clear one point of supply ($6.70) but ran into another ($7.30). Wednesday's increase in volume should help it push past $7.30 for a test of $9.72. The stock was helped by a strong day in the automaker parts sector. Still plenty of work to do to reverse the downtrend started in January 2004 - its lowly Investors Business Daily ranking is a testament to that. Play this slow. Watch for some minor resistance at $8.00 with the key test coming at $9.72. The other area to watch for resistance is the 200-day moving average currently at $7.89. The second pick, MAC, is another REIT play with a modest 4% dividend yield. The stock has enjoyed more-or-less an un-interrupted rally from $52.50. A MACD trigger line 'buy' and a cross above the 20-day MA in on-balance-volume is an opportunity to buy or add to an existing position. The company will feature on an upcoming webcast on June 9th. A double top breakout from May 18th is still in play on the point-n-figure chart with a price target of $87.00. The third pick, WFR, gapped up in the morning and closed at a new three-and-a-half year high on heavy volume. Lehman Brother raised quarterly guidance providing the impetus for Wednesday's rally. It was sufficient to trigger an ascending triple top breakout on the point-n-figure chart with a price target of $24.50. New highs in on-balance-volume was tempered by a MACD trigger line which still has some work to do to challenge resistance. However, overbought slow stochastics gives the advantage to the bulls.
