Breakouts for Aug 12th: Three breakouts which featured earlier this summer and have managed to make fresh upside moves. The first pick, AH, featured for June 14th as a Breakout and on May 12th as a Gold Member feature. The stock managed to pop over resistance as part of a move triggered by a $14.4m body armor order. The stock is still riding a double top breakout from June 16th on the point-n-figure chart with an upside target of $59.00. The MACD trigger line crossover above the bullish zero line and a pending breakout in on-balance-volume favor the bulls cause. Raise stops to follow. The second pick, WFR, sits a penny shy of a breakout. Of the three breakout candidates it holds the strongest Investors Business Daily rankings. The stock last featured for June 9th. The stock was added to the S&P Midcap 400 index last Friday and had posted its 10Q on Tuesday. The negative to watch was the larger than expected correction in the technicals although all remain bullish. A move to $19.00 will trigger a double top breakout in the point-n-figure chart and maintains a current price target of $24.50. The third pick is SPSS, featured as a Gold Member feature for April 19th and as a Breakout play for July 25th. The stock still maintains its triple top breakout from July 25th with a price target of $31.00. There was no company specific news for the breakout. On-balance-volume has yet to break resistance although the MACD trigger line has managed to break to new near term highs. Raise stops to new levels as recent volume has been a little shy to the upside.
