Breakouts for Apr 29th: The first pick, ARRS, featured on December 4th but was stopped out by a matter of pennies before it reversed to current levels. The company reported a strong quarter which helped drive the breakout. The move to new near term highs was supported by a new high in on-balance-volume and a 'buy' signal on the MACD trigger line. Thursday also marked an ascending triple top breakout on the point-n-figure chart with a price target of $12.25. I have drawn my price target from a projected base move. The second pick, GR, also reported good earnings and raised outlook. Thursday's breakout ended a 7-week congestion pattern and was supported by a new high in on-balance-volume, a 'buy' MACD trigger line signal, and a move above the bullish mid-line in slow stochastics. A move to test the breakout gap should be used to buy, place GTC orders around $7.05 to take advantage. The stock continues to ride a triple top breakout from January 31st with an optimistic price target of $71.50. I suspect psychological resistance at $50 will be a bigger threat. The third pick, FCN, was the last of the day's key movers - another earnings shaker. The next pivot price is $21.80 although GTC orders down to $21.10 should be good enough to take advantage of the first pivot price. Similar technical picture to the previous two candidates led by new highs in on-balance-volume. Thursday marked a double top breakout on the point-n-figure target with an upside target of $31.00 - my target is below the round $30 number.
