General notice on Breakout stocks: I will be restricting my free picks to those previously provided to my Subscribers first. My blog will become my primary source of free stock picks. Breakouts for April 13th: The first pick, ICFI, first featured as a Subscriber pick for March 21st but the stock gapped big the next day to take the position away. However, a better entry has presented itself following the appointment of a new senior vice president. The break of $19.79 resistance was supported by a new MACD trigger 'buy' and a breakout in on-balance-volume. The close marked a new closing high for the year with no overhead resistance. The point-n-figure chart is neutral for a price pattern but has a target of $33.50. A move to $21 would trigger a double top breakout on the latter chart. Solid Investors Business Daily rating gives this good prospects. The second pick, CCOI, pushed a break of $24.75 resistance after a series of tight trading days just below this (former) resistance level. There was no company specific news to account for the breakout. It too experienced a fresh MACD 'buy' trigger and a breakout in on-balance-volume. It also included a new reaction high in bullish trend strength [+DI; ADX < 20 and rising = weak bull trend]. The point-n-figure chart holds to an ascending triple top breakout from January 8th with a price target of $27.75. The third pick, GBN, has enjoyed a series of higher volume buying days to push the stock beyond $2.28 resistance. The company announced plans for a $45 million stock offering over a 25-month period. Technicals saw sharp new highs in bullish trend strength [+DI; ADX > 20 and rising sharply = improving bullish trend] in conjunction with a breakout in on-balance-volume and a breached MACD bearish divergence. The weekly chart shows a 12-month cup-and-handle pattern with the potential for a $1.25 move up to $3.75. The point-n-figure chart has yet show a pattern or target.

For those who prefer to set their own price targets the table opposite represents the frequency for a given % return (taken from maximum highs) assuming a fill at at the stated "Buy" price on the open (i.e. the prior days close). The return per trade from 5% risk is typical of what my subscribers can expect from their picks. The return per trade from 10% risk is what one can expect from my free stock picks. Returns will be higher on fills below my "Buy" price
